What are the different kinds of intakes?
Many overseas universities and colleges provide two enrollment periods, known as intakes – Autumn and Spring. The Autumn intake typically commences in September (concluding in December), while the Spring intake begins in January (concluding in May). Additionally, some academic institutions extend a supplementary intake in Summer, initiating in April.
What are the accommodation options available overseas?
As an Indian student, you can opt for on-campus residence facility or look for an off-campus accommodation. Most universities offer on-campus accommodation for international students, especially under 18 students. These accommodations will typically include dormitories, studio apartments, shared apartments with private bedrooms and other shared facilities. The cost for these accommodations range based on the type of accommodation and facilities the student requires. You need to apply for it separately and well ahead in time to secure a slot for yourself as the accommodation units tend to get full quickly. You can also opt for an off-campus accommodation wherein you can share apartments with other students or stay in a homestay. Your university may also be able to help you with off-campus accommodation since they usually have a list of options available. You can also refer to student notice boards and reliable rental sites for accommodation listings nearby.
Are there any special requirements for under 18 students if they wish to study abroad?
Besides meeting the basic requirements of the destination country, such as academic requirements, English language (such as IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, DUOLINGO, or MOI if applicable, etc.) requirements, SAT and or ACT requirements if applicable, all students under 18 years of age must have arrangements for a guardian and accommodation in place for the duration of their stay in the destination country until they turn 18 years of age. If you do not have a guardian and accommodation, you can opt for government verified local guardians and approved accommodation at a minimal cost. You need to check the specific requirements of the country you are planning to go to.
